Eysuvis is the first FDA-approved corticosteroid specifically indicated for short-term management of dry eye disease flares. It uses loteprednol's retrometabolic design to provide anti-inflammatory efficacy with a reduced IOP risk profile.
Mechanism of Action
Loteprednol etabonate is a retrometabolic corticosteroid designed to undergo predictable metabolic conversion to inactive metabolites, reducing systemic and IOP-related risks. It suppresses the inflammatory cascade by inhibiting phospholipase A2 and downstream prostaglandin and cytokine production.

- Short-term treatment (up to 2 weeks) of the signs and symptoms of dry eye disease flares
Typical Dosing Principles
One to two drops in each affected eye four times daily for up to 2 weeks.

Important Precautions
